Markus Lanz: Taking part in the festival was an opportunity for me to be part of a movement that is committed to Change and responsibility in our society. I feel that it is now our generation's turn to make something of this world. It's about passing on values and shaping our society - a responsibility that we have to live up to.

Alexander Müller: You've had an impressive career in television. How did you manage to find yourself at your professional best?

Markus Lanz: I wanted to stop at 50, but fortunately I decided against it. It would have been a mistake because I would have missed the best time of my professional life. The important thing is to find something that fulfills you and just get on with it. A self-determined life is the best we can achieve.

Markus Lanz on freedom and trust

Alexander Müller: Self-determination seems to be a central theme for you. Why do you attach so much importance to it?

Markus Lanz: I started as a dishwasher in a restaurant and worked hard. There was nothing self-determined about it. It was always important for me to get out of that situation and decide for myself what I wanted to do with my life. This freedom and the Trustthat my mother gave me have helped me to find my way.

Alexander Müller: You talk about the challenges of keeping children motivated and hungry in our affluent society. How do you deal with that?

Markus Lanz: I think it's a big challenge to get children to really want something from life. I always had the FeelingI still have a score to settle with life. But growing up in sheltered circumstances doesn't bring up these issues so much. It's about having confidence that your children will find their way.

Alexander Müller: Your professional journey has taken many twists and turns. How has your perspective changed over the years?

Markus Lanz: My Career has developed steadily from the very beginning and I have always enjoyed my work. But an important lesson was not to be dogged. You should take things lightly and let go when they don't work. It's about being in harmony with yourself and Conscious decisions to meet.

Alexander Müller: Markus, thank you very much for this honest and profound interview. You have given us valuable insights into your philosophy of life and your journey of self-development.

Markus Lanz: Thank you for having me here. It was a pleasure to share my thoughts and experiences. Hopefully they can serve as Inspiration serve.
